Our products have to pass through stringent internal analytical tests to ensure compliance to the requisite regulatory norms & guidelines.


Regulatory Compliance

Organic Pigments

  • SudapermTM, SudafastTM and SudacolorTM pigments are our environmentally acceptable alternatives to heavy metal containing colorants.
    Generally, they comply with European Guideline for Food Contact AP (89)1, the comprehensive legislation addressing toy safety (Toy Safety Directive, 2009/48/EC), Toy safety standard EN 71-3 (2013), FDA and BfR based on the analysis of parameters of typical batches.  Pigments that are controlled and certified to these guidelines can be supplied on request, by contacting the nearest sales office.
  • SudapermTM, SudafastTM and SudacolorTM pigments are Classification Labelling & Packaging (CLP) notified with European Chemical Agency (ECHA). They are not classified as hazardous under the regulation EC No. 1272/2008 of CLP which entered into forces on 20th January 2009. These pigments are also not classified as hazardous under CONEG and 94/62/EU.
  • SudapermTM, SudafastTM and SudacolorTM pigments supplied to European Union are REACh compliant and there is a plan in place to register substances based on the tonnage band. Few EINECS and ELINCS substances are already registered and working towards registering the remaining by 31st March 2018.

Inorganic pigments

  • SudadurTM cadmium and iron oxide pigments are not classified as hazardous for packaging under CONEG and 94/62/EU. Neither are they classified as special waste.
    Generally, SudadurTM cadmium and iron oxide pigments comply with the European Guideline for Food Contact AP (89)1 and BfR based on the analysis of typical batches. Pigments that are controlled and certified to these guidelines can be supplied on request, by contacting the nearest sales office.
    Our SudadurTM chrome pigments are carefully processed to ensure that acid extractable metal levels are controlled to below 5%.

Dispersions

  • SudatexTM dispersions are VOC-free, APEO-free, do not contain Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) and certified for GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard). Pigments used for manufacturing SudatexTM dispersions are not restricted under the German Consumer Goods Ordinance, except SudatexTM Red SC-FGR 4335.
  • SudatexTM dispersions are not classified as hazardous for packaging under CONEG and 94/62/EU. Neither are they classified as special waste.

Effect pigments

  • Generally, they comply with food packaging regulations like the European Guideline for Food Contact AP (89)1, Toy safety standard EN 71-3 (2013), FDA, BfR and IS: 9833 (2014) based on the analysis of typical batches.
  • SumicaTM pigments are not classified as hazardous for packaging and packaging waste under CONEG and European Directive 94/62/EEC, neither are they classified as special waste.
