- Understands Hazards and Risks
- Manages Risk effectively
- Learns from Experience
- Review Performance and Continual Improvement
The PSM Journey
The PSM journey is planned in a phased manner. Some of the key steps involved in implementation are highlighted below:
Gap Analysis
Gap Analysis and Culture Survey to establish baseline and identify enablers and areas of focus.
Process Safety Studies
Carrying out Process Safety Studies like Facility Siting, OBRA, Fire Protection System Design Review & Adequacy Study, HAZOP revalidation, F&G Mapping, Hazardous Area Classification and In-Plant Traffic Management.
Team Building
Boot camps for leadership and middle management team.
Contractor Incubation Centre
Contractor Incubation Centre for building competencies among contractor workforce.
Competency Workshop
Competency workshop for managers and frontline staff to help them drive the implement of safety and process safety systems and standards.
Foundation Blocks
Implementation and strengthening of foundation blocks of PSM elements like PSI, PHA, Workplace risk assessment, employee participation and leadership commitment.
Other Safety Aspects
In addition, there are other aspects of safety like management of changes, PSSR, operating procedure, asset integrity, emergency planning and OHS that will be strengthened over a period of two years.
BBS Program
A structured behavioral based safety (BBS) program will be rolled out once the safety and process systems and hardware upgrades are accomplished. The BSBS program will use the contemporary nudge theory to influence behaviour of all stakeholders.
Sudarshan, being part of the speciality chemical industry, firmly believes that PSM system will significantly help in identification and mitigation of process safety hazards and risk and ensure sustenance in future.
